Senior IBM ACE Integration Engineer – Payments & EAI

Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior IBM ACE Integration Engineer to join a strategic EAI Payment Services initiative for a leading global universal bank.

You will work on a business-critical Enterprise Application Integration platform supporting more than 600 interfaces across payment systems, financial applications, regulatory reporting platforms, databases, web services and messaging systems.

This is not a traditional middleware administration role. We are looking for a senior integration professional capable of working across both Run-the-Bank operations and Change-the-Bank development activities, combining strong production support capabilities with hands-on integration development.

The primary focus will be on payments, financial messaging and enterprise integration.

Main Responsibilities

Run-the-Bank / Operations

• Monitor production integration services.

• Analyze and resolve production incidents.

• Perform Incident Management.

• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

• Participate in on-call support.

• Manage performance and capacity issues.

• Support deployments and releases.

• Provide L3 production support.

• Troubleshoot Linux-based environments.

• Perform SQL/DB2 investigations.

• Support IBM MQ queue administration.

Change-the-Bank / Development

• Develop new IBM ACE integration flows.

• Enhance existing integrations.

• Build new interfaces and APIs.

• Participate in enterprise integration architecture activities.

• Conduct code reviews.

• Perform unit and integration testing.

• Maintain technical documentation.

• Support banking technology projects.

• Work with Jenkins deployment automation.

• Participate in the GitHub-based development lifecycle.

Integration Environment

You will work with integrations connecting systems and platforms including:

• Payment platforms

• SWIFT

• SEPA

• Loan IQ

• Trading systems

• Regulatory reporting systems

• Databases

Required Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience with IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) or IBM Integration Bus (IIB).

• IBM App Connect Enterprise – ACE12.

• IBM MQ.

• GitHub.

• Jenkins.

• SQL, preferably DB2.

• Unix/Linux.

• Python scripting.

Project Conditions

• Contract duration: until 31 December 2028, with an extension option.

• Location: Düsseldorf, Germany.

• Hybrid working model: approximately 70% remote / 30% on-site.

• On-site presence: approximately 6 days per month in Düsseldorf.

• Candidates from across Europe can be considered.

• Business-fluent English is mandatory.

• German is not required.

You will work mainly remotely, combined with regular on-site presence in Düsseldorf as required by this project.
