DevOps Specialist – AWS Cloud & Kubernetes

Job Description

As a DevOps Specialist, you will be responsible for operating and evolving cloud infrastructure, implementing automation across the software delivery lifecycle, and ensuring high availability, security, and scalability of enterprise platforms.

Working closely with development, architecture, and operations teams, you will manage containerized workloads, optimize cloud infrastructure, implement Infrastructure as Code, and promote modern DevOps and GitOps practices.

You will also contribute to cloud governance initiatives, cost optimization strategies, and observability solutions to ensure reliable and efficient cloud operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and manage cloud-native platforms running on Amazon EKS/Kubernetes.
  • Manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
  • Maintain and automate cloud infrastructure using Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
  • Promote GitOps practices using platforms such as ArgoCD or Flux.
  • Support cloud-based data platforms, including Oracle and Amazon RDS.
  • Manage serverless workloads using AWS Lambda and messaging services.
  • Implement observability and monitoring solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, DataDog, or similar tools.
  • Develop automation scripts using Bash and Python.
  • Drive cloud governance initiatives, ensuring security, compliance, and operational best practices.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment processes, platform reliability, and developer productivity.
  • Lead FinOps initiatives focused on cloud cost optimization, resource visibility, and usage policies.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Platform Engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using:
    • Terraform
    • AWS CloudFormation
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using:
    • Jenkins
    • GitLab CI
    • GitHub Actions
  • Knowledge of GitOps methodologies and tools.
  • Experience with observability platforms such as:
    • Prometheus
    • Grafana
    • ELK Stack
    • DataDog
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash and/or Python.
  • Experience managing AWS cloud infrastructure and cloud-native services.
  • Strong troubleshooting, automation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working within Agile and DevOps environments.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with FinOps and cloud cost optimization strategies.
  • Knowledge of AWS Solutions Architect or AWS DevOps Engineer best practices.
  • Experience integrating with mainframe security platforms such as RACF or ACF2 during hybrid coexistence.
  • Knowledge of service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd.
  • AWS certifications, including:
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
    • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
  • Experience working in enterprise or regulated environments.
