Job Description:

As a Backend Developer, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of backend applications built using Java 1.8 and Apache Tomcat. You'll work closely with technical teams to analyze requirements and implement effective solutions within existing systems.

This role requires a developer who is comfortable working in technically outdated environments, with a focus on code stability, structured analysis, and continuous support of production systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain backend applications using Java 1.8 and Tomcat.

• Perform technical analysis of new requirements and contribute to solution design.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure reliable and secure system performance.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production and development environments.

• Contribute to improving and documenting legacy codebases.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in backend development with Java.

• Solid experience working in legacy or monolithic environments (Java 1.8, Tomcat).

• Strong understanding of technical requirement analysis.

• Detail-oriented, methodical approach to problem-solving.

• Ability to work independently or within a small team setup.

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with legacy system modernization strategies.

• Experience in maintaining production systems with minimal downtime.

• Knowledge of version control and deployment tools.

You will work 100% remotely from wherever you decide. Sometimes you may have face-to-face meetings and for that reason you have to reside in Spain or in the European Union.

You will work on projects with a leading company in digital transformation with a passion for technology and innovation in sectors such as banking (35 of the main banks worldwide work with our client), insurance, industrial and automotive in Big Data projects, Blockchain, AI, Cloud, among others.
