Cloud Engineer – FinOps & Cloud Strategy

Job Description:

As a Cloud Engineer specialized in CloudOps and FinOps, you’ll be responsible for shaping and executing the financial governance strategy across AI-intensive cloud workloads. Your work will align with global FinOps frameworks and contribute to the organization’s cost efficiency, reporting accuracy, and cultural adoption of FinOps practices. You will be involved from early-stage architecture planning to ongoing optimization and anomaly detection across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

Key Responsibilities:

1. FinOps Governance & Strategy
  • Define cloud governance and methodology in alignment with the global FinOps team, focused on AI workloads.

  • Promote a culture of financial responsibility among developers, architects, and product leaders.

  • Support teams in embedding FinOps practices from design to production stages.

2. Reporting & Visibility
  • Create and implement policies and guardrails that ensure cost-efficient cloud usage.

  • Contribute to FinOps performance tracking, including efficiency reporting and PoC development.

  • Define custom alerts for cost anomalies and usage spikes.

3. Cross-Team Collaboration
  • Partner with the global FinOps team to integrate best practices across domains.

  • Help deliver internal tools and dashboards to increase financial visibility.

4. Continuous Optimization & Forecasting
  • Identify real-time savings opportunities and coordinate improvements with engineering and product teams.

  • Supervise cloud cost anomaly detection tools and validate budget forecasts for AI initiatives.

5. Training & Evangelization
  • Lead training sessions and evangelize FinOps principles within engineering and data science teams.

  • Drive the adoption of cloud consumption best practices and internal FinOps tools.

Skills & Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering or CloudOps roles.

  • Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, and Azure.

  • Strong analytical skills with knowledge in Business Intelligence tools and Python.

  • Familiarity with FinOps frameworks and cloud cost optimization strategies.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and business teams.

You will work 100% remotely from wherever you decide. Sometimes you may have face-to-face meetings and for that reason you have to reside in Spain or in the European Union.
